You’ve made it to the IJA 3PLT x MARS MILITARIA front…

The IMPERIAL JAPANESE ARMY THIRD PLATOON reenacting unit started in 2004. Originating in Arizona, the unit wanted to contribute more to the American-based Japanese military reenacting community other than khaki work shirts, Swedish steel helmets, and banzai charges. The old unit website was well received and often imitated. Personal and professional commitments made it difficult to update and modernize. Thus, it was discontinued in early 2021. Unit membership waxed and waned through the years, with a migration from Arizona to Texas, prior involvement with the National Museum of the Pacific War, and collaborations with both U.S and Japanese based sister units in various private and public events.

While the focus remains on portrayals of Japanese units, members have expanded their impressions covering several eras and nationalities.

This site now serves as the new landing page and point of contact for the unit.

MARS MILITARIA was officially launched in 2020 to provide a web presence for specialized, bespoke projects with an emphasis on 20th Century East Asian militaria. MARS MILITARIA provides quality made reproductions of niche articles for the discerning military collector and reenactor.
